What Do I Do With My Investments NOW?

What Do I Do With My Investments NOW?

The market is at an all-time high, and inflation is rising. This presents many challenges.

Challenge 2: My favorite investments keep growing. Should I hold or sell?

Whether its Amazon, Apple, Netflix or others, these companies are becoming a larger percentage of many investors' portfolios.

From a purely investment perspective, the general rule of thumb is, if you would buy the stock today, you should continue to hold it.

If you don't like the stock, or you are worried about the concentration, then you should sell. If you own the stock in a tax-deferred account (eg. IRA, 401k), taxes are not an issue, so reduce the position to the amount you are comfortable holding.

If you own the stock in a taxable account, capital gains taxes may be a consideration. There may be ways to shelter the gain: harvest any capital losses to offset the gain or give the stock to charity, to name just a few.

Please contact AskFreedom@FreedomFamilyOffice.com to discuss how these ideas can be applied to your own situation.
